Types Of Cement

Cement is the main component of concrete.It is an economical and high quality construction material which is used in construction of almost all type of project such as buildings, bridges, highways, etc.Also it can be said as heart of construction.Beside all this there are many types of cement.

Different types of cement are:-

1.Rapid Hardening Cement - This type of cement has an increased percentage of lime.They are commonly used to give strenth to the structure.

2.Quick Settling Cement - It consist of small percentage of aluminium sulphate and reducing the percentage of gypsum.They are commonly used as they are completed in very short period of time.

3.Low Heat Content - It is manufactured by reducing tricalcim aluminate.

4.Sulphate Resisting Cement - This type of cement is prepared by maintaing the percentage of tricalcium aluminate below 6%.it increases power against sulphates.

5.High Alumina Cement - It is obtained by melting mixture of bauxite and lime and grinding with the clinkers.It is a rapid hardening cement.

6.White Cement - This type of cement is prepared from raw materials free from iron oxide.

7.Coloured Cement - It is produced by mixing mineral pigment with ordinary cement.

8.Pozzolanic Cement - This type of cement is prepared by grinding pozzolanic clinker with portland cement.

9.Hydrographic Cement - It is prepred by mixing water repelling chemicals.
