San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge
San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge is spanning San Francisco Bay of California, in the United States having total length of 7.18 km. As part of Interstate 80 and the direct road route between San Francisco and Oakland. It carries vehicles on its two decks of 5 traffic lanes having width of 17.5 m.
The bridge consists of two main spans of 700 m & 430 m, a western span connecting downtown San Francisco to Yerba Buena Island and an eastern span connecting the island to Oakland. The height of the bridge is 160m with vertical clearance of 67 m & 58 m. The main part of the western span is a suspension bridge while the main part of the eastern span is a cantilever bridge.
It was built by American Bridge Company, it opened for traffic on November 12, 1936.
