Prepare yourself for the entrance season
Prepare yourself for the entrance season
It is a competitive world, no matter what area it is. Well said by Amir Khan and Chetan Bhagat, we are all in a race track, running behind success and people are behaving like the young once of Cuckoo bird. Even though the movie ends by saying that it is not a right practice, in a competitive world we are living, we have to run as fast as possible so as to make our position safe and to reach our goals.
A globalized world offer lots of opportunity to grow and to develop. But the number of opportunities one have differed from the other by the choices they make in life. You are exposed to a lot of choices and you have to select the one, the right one for you. Once you made the choice, you have to work hardly for that, remember it is a competitive world.
For all those pre-university students, just finished their board exams, here is the time to make up your mind for the future. Now the students seem to be well focused than compared to the early days. They have a clear idea for where to go and decisions are made right after matriculation.
For all those professional course aspirant, April- May is the month of a series of Entrance Examination which is going to determine their career paths. The major once are IIT-JEE, All India Entrance Exam for both Medical and engineering, the state level entrance examinations NEST and other State and Deemed University Examinations etc., it is going to be a long list. The applicant should be well prepared so as to take these exams. Parents, teachers and lots of coaching centers are there to help the students.
When is Right time?
The usual answer is “this is the right time”, but even you can’t think about magic. You should have a systematic method for preparing the exams, right from the day you made your choice. For every exam there is a format, you should be familiar with that, for example, what the pattern is, question structures, how to tackle it etc.
The great advantage for the students is that since they just wrote the board exams the concepts are theory are fresh in their mind and need a review through the text books. But they really have to focus the character of question asked in the entrance exam. Most of the exams are objective type and the answers are in front of you. The only thing you have to do is to mark the right answer. But the difficulty is identifying and cracking the question; once mastered the techniques you will get the answer with in no time.
Time is also one of the important factors you need to take care. Overall the entrance exam is l about identifying the problem within the prescribed time. So you should need a lot of practices in each and every subject. The process is simple if it is systematic that no coaching center will teach you.
How to prepare?
For every student there will be some areas that they are weak in. So during these crucial periods, each candidate must learn and get better in those areas and add this with your stronger areas. It is not an easy process, unless and until there is strong determination to do so. Here the coaching centers and expert teachers will help you. There will be some simple method to learn the area and the only thing you need to understand is the base and the key methods.
Once a student is confident in all the conceptual and theory part they can think about the format and nature of each exam. Now onwards they have to focus on each aspects of exam like the structure of question, time required to answer each question, speed etc.
Every entrance exam, there is a prescribed syllabus that the students can get from the official website of the respective exam authority. The students can download it from the net and refer that while making their schedules. Most of the state entrance is completely based upon the curriculum of plus two and if a student is through with this, he/she only have to think about the nature and structure of the questions.
For the All India level examination for medical and Engineering, the topic is mostly covered in the NERT curriculum and the students can refer the text book for preparing the exam. They can also go with the previous year question papers, which is also available in the website.
Students are required to spend very less time as possible on each exam. So be familiar with the shortcut for answering rather than going for a step-by-step method. Also they must be able to read and answer the question in a speedily manner. This can be possible only if the student is practicing a number of question papers. Most of the entrance test has negative mark system, for every wrong answer there will be mark reduction. So the candidate must be very careful about answering, mark the answer if you are confident only.
In the coaching centre you will not only able to deal with your weaker areas, but also make yourself familiar with the structure of the questions. Most of the prominent coaching centers in India are able to crack a good record on the competitive exam achievers. They will offer the students well designed study materials which help them in the preparation and conduct classroom instructions based upon the type of exam requirements. Most important of all, students should have an attitude to learn, hard work and committed nature to build a successful career.
Contingency plans
As we disused above, all of us have plenty of choices and we select the best one out of it. But it is advisable to all the students to have a second plan also, in case you miss the one you can move forward without any hesitation. As we heard lot about Plan B and Plan C and it is similar to the contingency plans. This will help the students to have confidence in their approach and will decrease the pressure over them. They can concentrate more on their studies for the exams and will eliminate unhealthy worries and anxieties. It doesn’t mean that you should take your first option lightly, since it is a competitive world there may be a better student than you and we don’t know which egg is going to hatch first.
