Thermal Insulation System for walls
Thermal
Insulation System for walls
Insulation system for walls in Middle East wall
insulation element has a polyurethane (PUR) high-resistance foam core free of
FCKWs (ozone destroyer), which provides the highest possible energy saving with
its insulation value ranging from 0.0280-0.0214 W/m.K. The PUR-core is covered
with an aluminum foil on the underside to enhances the U- value. The
Fleece-coated side, on which the various coatings are applied, such as various
kinds of plasters, closers made of natural material, Brick slips or other forms
of wall design are just easy to apply, extremely high tensile strength and
outstanding coefficient of adhesion. The fiber mesh also gives advantage of
more reinforcement to the whole area of where the plaster is going to be
applied and the insulation fixing (Poly Porpylene Plugs) is used as a
mechanical fixing to fix the board to the wall.
1.Fixing of
Aluminum / Render Profile:
Starting from the walkway level by 25 cm above, fix
the aluminum profile, using steel nails, which acts as the base of the system.
This profile must have a width of 43 mm for an insulation board of 40 mm, a gap
of 3mm is provided for fixing the plaster profile (refer fig-3) later on. The
aluminum profile and plaster profile is used for every floor. Wall Insulation Method and application

2. Leveling the
surface of the wall and fixing the Insulation board:
Mix Insubond Plaster with water thoroughly to form a
paste, (refer technical data of Insubond-conmix plaster). Level the wall by
applying Insubond over the surface of the wall & work it out using a
threaded trowel. The minimum amount of 1.5kg/m2 of insubond is applied over the
first layer. After 5-10 minutes, apply Insubond over the surface of the
insulation board (the aluminum foil side) & work it out by threaded trowel,
fix the insulation board in a Staggered Method (refer fig-7) Wall Insulation Method and application Middle

3. Fixing of
Plaster Profile, Fiber-Glass Mesh:
A plaster profile of width 5-mm is fixed in front of
the aluminum profile (ref fig-1) this profile is used as starter for Insubond
plaster. To identify the place to be used for fixing the insulation board using
Plugs, a certain area is marked using 5mm thick insubond. Over this marked
area, and alkaline resistant Fibre Glass Mesh (min 180-200 g/m2) is embedded
using a trowel. Wall Insulation Method
and application Middle East
4. Mechanical
fixing of Insulation Board, Corner Profile:
The insulation board and fibre glass mesh are fixed
using Propylene Plugs with reinforced Nylon Nail over the marked area. To fix
an insulation board of lm2, 10 insulation fixing is needed.(ref fig-7) The
method of fixing the plug is shown in the fig-8. Drill the hole of required
thickness using 8mm drill-bit, fix the plug & hammer the nylon nail using a
mallet (ref fig-7-8). Then apply a prime thin layer of insubond plaster, press
gently mesh with the trowel and fix the Corner profile over the corners which
gives straight edges for the building (ref Technical data of fiber mesh). After
these application the wall is cured for 48 hours. Wall Insulation Method and application Middle East
5. Applying
final layer of Insubond:
After curing the wall for 48 hours the final layer
of Insubond-conmix plaster of thickness 3-5 mm is applied over the area and
again the wall is cured for 48 hrs. Wall
Insulation Method and application Middle East
6. Decorative
Plaster Coating:
After the final layer of Insubond is cured and
dried, the required finishing coat can be applied either by trowel, roller or
spray. The coating can be of different colors & thickness as per the
customer's requirements. The decorative layer should not be more than 15mm and
it is recommended to use light colored plasters, since it absorbs less heat.
Possible options
for the final wall designs are:
• Trowelled rendering
• Float Finish
• Variegated stone/ pebble rendering
• Plastic flat facing bricks
• Facing bricks of natural material
• Common cement-lime plaster.
